A summary of results to the needs assessment survey. 1. Who will you administer the assessment(s) to and why?
I will administer the needs assessment to the Tech department and Art department teachers. However the results will be made clear to the committee members. The needs assessment will be very broad with the fact that the combined department is very broad in the subject matter and teaching environment. These are the two departments that would be affected.
2. What information do you hope to prove/realize as a result of administering the assessments?
The committee is hoping that other stakeholders feel the need for a central area to store information and student work. We also hope that the stakeholders are willing to incorporate the technology into their classrooms.
3. How will the information be presented to overcome the hesitation and resistance by the faculty and stakeholder groups?
The information will be made clear by showing all stakeholders the results to the survey. Making it clear that this is a collective group that is looking to better the learning environment and improve student learning will hopefully persuade hesitant stakeholders to join in and make it even better.
Using the resources provided within Internet Resources in Bb, we addressed the following questions:
1. Has the initiative been introduced in other settings?
The idea of network storage has been around for years, but the invention of NAS device that can be added onto an existing system is fairly new. However the technology is now wide spread and proven to be reliable.
2. Has it been proven effective? Is it research-based?
The technology has been implemented in many other settings. The ability to store information in a central area and then be able to access it anywhere in the network is how the internet was developed.
3. Are there any case studies or pilot programs where the initiative has been integrated and evaluated?
The technology is not just used in the education environment. The technology is wide spread and implemented in many different environments. Students will use it at college and in the work place.
